Sprout Recruitment is now hiring a seasoned Lawyer for a Sydney CBD based Firm, ideally someone who will work with senior team members to provide legal support and advice to clients and advise them on the necessary courses of action that contribute to the success of the firm.

About the role:

  • Advise clients on the law and technical issues relating to their matters
  • Manage and progress a variety of matters in line with the clients’ needs and instructions
  • Prepare legal documents in a concise and effective manner
  • Research and analyse documents and case law to ensure accuracy of advice and procedure
  • Correspond with clients and opposing lawyers
  • Attend meetings and negotiations with opposing parties
  • Work with clients to act on their behalf in disputes and represent them, if required
  • Support others by coordinating activities
  • Ensure administrative activities are completed in a timely and accurate manner
  • Represent clients in most appropriate manner
  • Ensure you use the firm’s available resources to achieve outcomes, including interstate resources
  • Establish and maintain active and constructive relationships with other team members in firm
  • Integrates learnings from others to develop practice and team further
  • Work with senior members of the team to ensure activities support KPI achievement and firm’s growth
  • Build and promote strong, long-lasting client relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs
  • Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of competitor activities and bring to attention of Partners
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
  • Schedule events, activities to further develop practice and firm

About you:

  • Ensure you contribute to the firm’s performance
  • Ensure you work towards achieving your individual development plan
  • Support others with their training and development
  • Ensure you work as a collaborative team member to achieve effectiveness and efficiency
  • Always uphold Firm’s Policies, procedures and guidelines
  • Ability to work cohesively with all firm’s areas and offer skills and experience when appropriate for the greater benefit of the firm
  • Capable of achieving KPI billable hours per day – 5.5 hours per day, unless otherwise agreed
  • Ideally 4+ years with appropriate litigation and insolvency practice experience
  • Ability to be proactive and constructive team member
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills
  • Demonstrate sound computer skills, strong time management, planning and organising skills
  • Commitment to firm’s expected values and behaviours
